The chill wind still blows across the Hulunbuir Grassland. In a cabin behind 29-year-old herder Sudebilige, a Guangdong-made refrigerator hums quietly, keeping the processed Xiqi mutton from the day before fresh and chilled. Fifty years ago, his father used cold well water to keep food cool, burned sheep dung bricks for warmth, and spent long winter nights by candlelight.
What has traveled more than 3,000 kilometers from Lingnan to northern China is more than distance; it is a four-decade-long wave of Guangdong goods heading north. Today, this wave has taken on a new form, becoming deeply woven into Inner Mongolia's daily life and industrial transformation. More importantly, as China's gateway for opening up to the north, Inner Mongolia is emerging as a key corridor for Guangdong goods and more "Made in China" goods to reach global markets.
Sudebilige said that compared with his father's generation, the biggest difference is his business mindset and how he plans for the future. He also noted that his father adheres to a traditional nomadic mindset, relying mainly on offline transactions. In contrast, he emphasizes an internet-based business model and plans to venture into e-commerce and livestreaming marketing, build his own brand, and learn to operate drones to improve the efficiency of pasture management. "Guangdong goods have helped us move from traditional herders to more modern ones," he added.
智造优品达塞北,新牧歌里扬粤韵
呼伦贝尔大草原依旧寒风凛冽。29岁的牧民苏德毕力格身后的营房里,一台来自广东的冰箱静静运转,里面储藏着前一日刚处理好的西旗羊肉。50年前,他的父亲还靠着大口井“冰镇”食物,用羊粪砖取暖,点着蜡烛度过漫漫长夜。
从岭南到塞北,跨越3000多公里的,不仅是地理距离,更是一场持续40余年的“广货北上”浪潮。如今,这股浪潮正以全新形态,深度嵌入内蒙古的日常生活与产业变革。更为关键的是,作为我国向北开放的“桥头堡”,内蒙古正成为广货乃至更多“中国制造”走向全球市场的重要通道。
“与父辈相比,我们最大的不同体现在经营理念和未来规划上。”苏德毕力格说,父亲秉持传统游牧思维,以线下交易为主;而他更注重互联网思维,计划进军电商、直播带货,打造自主品牌,同时学习无人机操控技术,让牧场管理更高效。“广货让我们从传统牧民转变为更现代化的牧民。”
